This is our third year working directly with Heleanna Georgalis at Moplaco, a renowned green coffee exporter in Addis Ababa. A close friend and mentor to Melanie, Heleanna is one of Ethiopia's most esteemed coffee professionals. Her expertise extends beyond Ethiopia, as she travels globally to explore innovative agronomic and processing methods.
2023 Washed Ethiopian Coffee
Our staple washed Ethiopian coffee for 2023 was acquired through the ECX (Ethiopia’s state-managed coffee auctioning system). What sets Heleanna's coffee apart is the meticulous hand-sorting at her export facility. This process, applied to every lot regardless of its grade, ensures the fullest potential of the coffee is realized.
Quality and Freshness
Our selection criteria for this coffee were its freshness and flavor profile, which includes melon, berry, and candied citrus notes. It possesses an elegant body and a clean finish, making it versatile for blends or as a standout single-origin offering.
